A Final Note from Dr. Swanson (for a while)
This concludes Other Possibilities. My sincere thanks for joining me on this journey over the past hundred-plus days as I’ve shared the story of Lawson Scruggs.
For me, this has always been about more than writing a book. It’s about impact. As an emergency physician, I see every day how deeply our system needs transformational change. I’ve come to believe that small tweaks won’t do it. We need a new paradigm, new institutions, new stories, new heroes.
Those new stories and heroes should include people like Lawson Scruggs and Marie Burgess.
I’m not sure what comes next, but I know I need a break, at least a few weeks away from posting on Substack.
In the meantime, you might be interested in some of my other work:

In a few weeks, I’ll likely start sharing a shorter version of this story, focused only on the scenes involving Lawson Scruggs. But I’m open to your suggestions. Maybe I should buckle down and get this story formally published in traditional book form. Maybe I should create posts about current events and developments in health and medicine. I’d love your thoughts:
Best Wishes. I hope that our paths continue to cross.
Sincerely,
-Chad

Dr. Singh, thank you for your replay and interest. As soon as Chad resurfaces from his well deserved time away we will definitely plan to connect. However, I am always open to connecting one-on-one with you until then.
Much appreciated.
